Joke of the Month:

You ever hear the joke about the broken pencil?

Never mind, it's pointless.

Recent Comics I've worked with:

First time I ever got a chance to work with Michael Hoffman.  We worked together at Rossis and had a great crowd, and if I may be humble, gave the crowd a kick ass show.

Didn't get a chance to take any pictures so the best I could do was find this picture off the Internet that must have came right out of his high school year book.

Bought a shirt at the show? If so send me a picture and I'll put it up on the web
page!

Movie Reviews:

The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe

I started reading this series and did a review of the first book here.  This was an excellent movie which more than lived up to the hype.  A lot of times after you read a book, and then go see a movie based on the book you notice all the missing elements.   This is one of those exceptions where the story did a very good job of sticking to the storyline in the book.  Liam Neesen portrays the strong voice of Aslan and was a perfect match.  However the movie was stolen by Tilda Swinton who plays the White Witch. She plays the witch role the best I've seen since the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz.

So far everyone I've known that has seen this movie has enjoyed it.  There may be a few scenes kind of scary for the very young, but besides that this movie is suitable for everyone.

They also did an excellent job on making the battle scenes intense but at the same time keeping them bloodless.

I recommend this as a must see movie.

Sorry the newsletter is so short this month.  I keep saying I'm going to start it earlier and here it is a day late and I'm just now getting it done.

Music for the moment:

Not a music review this month but just something I didn't' realize until recently.

The song "Feel Good, Inc" by the Gorillaz.  I didn't know until recently those are my boys from back in the day doing the rapping.  De La Soul.

If you ever want to hear some original rap listen to some Old School De La Soul

On the Serious Tip:

This is the box where I normally like to be a little controversial.  I wanted to not do that but couldn't avoid it.   This time my take around is on good ol' "W".

The fact that he is determined to spy on Americans without the consent of Congress or anyone else scares me.  There are two instances when I remember a leader of a country having a 'secret police'

Hitler and Saddam Hussein.

For what it's worth under the current laws the president would have been allowed to order this type of spying without approval anyway, but then would have to get approval after 72 hours.

I can understand the need for this type of surveillance but as with every branch of law enforcement down to the local police, this is why we have a system of checks and balances to avoid this type of abuse of power.
